In reply to your letter, number 44088,
3/1916, dated
15th September 1916, I am commanded by the Army Council to inform you that Chinese Coolies are required for the following classes of labour ¦-
Road making and road maintenance.
Quarrying.
To work under lumbermen in forests.
Loading and unloading of trains.
I am to add that it is desirable that 5% of the men should be skilled labourers of the following trades -Blacksmith, Carpenter, Glazier, Mason, Bricklayer, Painter and Plasterer.
